Ukraine will build another national digital network for 260 million UAH, to replace analog TV on the basis of the state concern BRT. This is reported by «Liga.net».
The message noted that Ukraine planned to transfer to digital television for a long time. Last week the Cabinet draft law «on Immediate Measures for the Implementation of Digital Broadcasting in Ukraine» was agreed.
After disconnecting the analogue TV, it will remain in the territories with a special broadcasting regime and in the border areas as an exception.

The adviser of the head of the National Council, and director of Omega TV Oleksandr Glushchenko assures, that the analogue TV should be disconnected in order to launch 4G, which would allow covering the entire territory of the country, including small towns and villages, with high-speed mobile Internet.
In addition, part of Ukraine’s media groups support the decision to disable analogue TV, as this will save money by avoiding parallel broadcasting of analogue and digital signals and also because there is no need to register license for analogue broadcasting.
In another opinion, Ukraine is not ready to disconnect analogue TV on July 1, because almost a million people may stay without on-air television broadcasting, which can affect the political elections results in 2019.
Note, that there is only one digital company in Ukraine – multiplex operator Zeonbud. Its license for digital broadcasting expires before the end of the summer. This circumstance can cause an unfair distribution of digital licenses in a new contest.
As «The Journalist» reported earlier, Ukraine has delayed the shutdown of analog TV.
