Ukraine’s sugar production decreased

Sugar production in the country decreased by 15% compared with last year. This was reported by the website of the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine.
It is reported that sugar production in Ukraine in the 2018/2019 marketing year decreased by 15% compared with the previous season and amounted to 1.82 million tons.

“In total, 42 sugar refineries were active this season. They processed 13.6 million tonnes of sugar beet, which was almost 10% less than last year. Sugar output fell by 15% due to the reduction in acreage and raw materials,” the message says.

In turn, it is noted that Vinnytsia oblast were in the lead of sugar production (424,000 tons). Also among the leaders are the Ternopil oblast (227,000 tons) and the Poltava oblast (222,500 tons).
