Film dedicated to Holocaust Memorial Day premiere will be held in Ukraine

“Babiy Yar” Holocaust Memorial Center together with the National Center of Alexander Dovzhenko, organize the first screening of documentary “Who Will Write Our History" 2018. About this reported on site of Holocaust Memorial Center "Babiy Yar".

“The world premiere under the auspices of UNESCO for the International Holocaust Remembrance Day will be held simultaneously on January 27 in more than 40 countries around the world,” the statement reads.

Documentary by Polish director Roberta Grossman was produced by Nancy Spielberg. The film tells about the underground archives of Warsaw ghetto and Oneg Shabbat group, which was created by historian Emanuel Ringelblum to document the life of Jewish community during Nazi occupation.
Before the beginning of the uprising in the Warsaw ghetto, archive was divided into three parts and hidden. Two of them were found and placed in the exposition of the Jewish Historical Institute in Warsaw. In 1999, the Ringelblum archive was included in the UNESCO Memory of the World List.
The premiere will be held in Dovzhenko Center on Scene 6 at 5 p.m.. Admission is free, but there is a registration for participation in the event.
Movie will also be shown in Cherkassy, Zaporizhia, Sumy, Kryvyi Rih, Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskiy, Poltava, Rivne, Kropivnitskiy, Lutsk, Odessa.
