At the cemetery in Irpen (Kiev region) unknown intruders burned several graves on the alley of heroes of the Antiterrorist Operation (ATO). This is reported by an eyewitness on her Facebook page.
«At the cemetery in Irpin, vandals burned the graves of ATO fighters», – message said.
The woman posted photos, on which also show burnt national flags. Web users were outraged by such vandalism and desecration of the memory of the heroes of Ukraine. Some users of the social network have suggested that graves been set on fire because of negligence.
«Maybe it’s not vandals, but just someone left a burning cemetery lampade. Artificial plastic wreaths and flowers burn like a torch. I’ve seen similar situations in the cemetery», – said one of the social network users.
As «The Journalist» earlier reported, vandals had stolen cast-iron slabs from the mass graves of the dead soldiers.
