Great Britain will support Ukraine during the North Atlantic Alliance summit, which will be held on July 11-12th in Brussels, said Philip Barton, Director General, Consular and Security at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, during a meeting with Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov.

«Great Britain has supported and will continue to support a democratic independent Ukraine, in particular, and during the next NATO summit in Brussels», Barton’s press service told SNBO.

Barton also congratulated the NSDC Secretary on the adoption of the law «On National Security of Ukraine», noting that the UK «supports positive changes in the security and defense sector of your country and is ready to further help reform Ukraine».
«On the part of our close partner of Ukraine, we saw great support after the events in Salisbury. We really appreciate this», added the Director General, Consular and Security at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Companions discussed the potential directions of military-technical cooperation between Ukraine and Great Britain.
«We need a new quality in this matter. Ukraine is interested in joint investment projects in the defense industry with partners from NATO member countries», Turchynov said.

As «Journalist» reported Turchynov said that Ukraine’s membership in NATO is not a close prospective.
