In France famous French chansonnier, composer, poet and writer 94-year-old Charles Aznavour has died, reports Le Monde.

As the press attache of the chansonnier explained, Aznavour died the night from September 30 to October 1 in his home in the south of France.
Previously, he returned from a tour of Japan, which singer had to postpone last summer because of a broken arm. Then the doctors recommended that he focus on his health.

During his life Aznavour created about 1,300 songs, played in 60 films and sold more than 200 million discs.
In 2009, Charles Aznavour was appointed Armenian Ambassador to Switzerland and permanent representative of the country at the UN headquarters.
