The head of the World Health Organization in Ukraine Jarno Habicht in an interview with RBC-Ukraine has noted that Ukraine is ready to weaken quarantine in general, but still needs to strengthen it in some regions.
He noted that it is necessary to closely monitor effectiveness of quarantine weakening at the regional, district and local levels.
“I have studied the statistics in such regions as the city of Lviv, Lviv region, Chernivtsi, Zakarpattia, Rivne – they make up half of the total statistics. That is, at the national level, we can weaken quarantine, but in such regions these measures should be strengthened,” Jarno Habicht said.
He added that the situation with the coronavirus may get out of control, and then Ukraine will have to return to nationwide quarantine.
