World Bank Group president to visit Ukraine

On August 22, the new president of the World Bank Group (WB) David Malpass will pay a two-day visit in Kyiv.

According to the press service of the World Bank’s office in Ukraine, this will be his first visit to Ukraine after taking office as President of the WB Group on April 9 this year.

On August 23, Mr Malpass will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The president of the WB Group plans to meet with the Minister of Finance, the head of the National Bank, majors, MPs, representatives of the banking sector, farmers and representatives of the private sector.

“During the visit, Mr. Malpass will discuss Ukraine’s plans for implementation of economic reforms aimed at boosting growth and creating new jobs and better opportunities for the Ukrainian people,” the Bank press service noted.

As The Journalist reported, World Bank gives Ukraine a USD 200 mln loan.
