On May 16, Dmitry Gutsulyak, the spokesman for the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, said on a briefing in Kiev, that more than 270 tests of new military equipment and weapon samples were carried out in the conflict in the east of Ukraine during the 2014 – 2017 period. This was reported by UNN.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine tested more than 40 types of the new weapons in 2017.
«In 2017 more than 40 new samples were tested. Among them – mortars of various calibers, sniper rifles, surveillance and night vision devices, special medical cabinets at the automobile base, unmanned aerial systems, radio stations of various ranges, etc.», – said Gutsulyak.
As the press secretary of the Ministry of Defence said, tests continue in 2018. Military scientists are focused on the development of highly effective weapons systems and equipment, modern telecommunications infrastructure, deterrence and countermeasures, robotic military complexes, unmanned aerial vehicles and marine ones.
As «The Journalist» reported, Ukraine started the serial production of active protection complexes «Zaslon» (Barrier) and «Shershen», due to the contract with the Republic of Turkey.
