President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a phone conversation with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in connection with the death of the Ukrainian military in Donbas.

This was announced by the head of state after a meeting with security officials regarding the militant attack (August 6) in the Pavlopil area in Donbas.

“Today in the morning I spoke with President of Russia Vladimir Putin about this, I called him and said that this [death of the Ukrainian soldiers – ed.] does not bring us close to peace, I ask you to influence that the other side [the militants in Donbas – ed.] to stop murdering our people,” the president said.

“The second question was connected with the demining of Stanytsia Luhanska and reducing [time for dismantling fortifications] in order to build a bridge there. A few more questions that I raised were the returning of captured Ukrainians,” Zelensky added.

According to him, the conversation with Putin was rather long, UNIAN reports.

As The Journalist reported, the militants increase number of attacks on Ukrainian positions.
