The Advisor to the President of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedoriv, and representatives of the World Bank discussed the projects on the digital economy development and providing Ukrainians with high-quality Internet coverage.

The presidential press service noted that this was already the second meeting with the representatives of the World Bank specializing in digital economy and digital transformations.

It is emphasized that “in order to accelerate economic growth and increase prosperity in Ukraine, widespread deployment of high-speed Internet access networks should take place. Thus, it is important to consolidate the efforts of politicians, public institutions, private operators and providers to develop the necessary infrastructure able to provide high speed data transfer for at least 80% of households until 2025. “

The main goal of the project is to provide Ukrainians with affordable high-quality Internet throughout the country to enable Ukrainians to benefit from the digital world for their own development, business and entertainment. Now the gap between urban and rural areas with regard to development of broadband Internet is about 40%.

According to Fedoriv, the possibilities provided by the Internet are an important basis for leveling the living standards in rural areas.

As reported by The Journalist, Ukraine will build hotels with required Internet access.
