President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Ministry of Veterans’ Affairs will not be liquidated.

He said this during the international veteran and volunteer forum in Kyiv.

“Nobody will liquidate the Ministry of Veterans’ Affairs,” Zelensky assured.

The president called the information about the alleged liquidation of the ministry “embarrassing gossips.”

“Our state and independence exists thanks to you [veterans of war in Donbas – ed.]. The efforts you have done for Ukraine, for its independence, for protection of our sovereignty is simply invaluable,” the president said.

In addition, Zelensky asked veterans to propose candidacy of the future Minister for Veterans’ Affairs.

“We are waiting for a candidate from you. I don’t want to choose this candidature, I want you to provide a candidature, which really may head the ministry,” he said.

The Ministry for Veterans’ Affairs is headed by Iryna Friz.

Zelensky also announced the creation of the Council of Volunteers at the Office of the President of Ukraine.

“The Council of Volunteers will be created at the Office of the President of Ukraine and the Commissioner for Volunteers’ Affairs will be appointed,” Zelensky said.

As The Journalist reported, Zelensky appointed new Ukraine’s representatives for TCG.
