Zelensky extends ban on Russian social networks in Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has enacted a decision of the National Security and Defense Council regarding the extension of the ban on Russian sites and social networks in Ukraine.

The corresponding decree No.184/2020 was published on the website of the Head of State.

The Parliament recommended the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to extend the terms of sanctions against Russian social networks. The NSDC decided to extend the ban on Russian social networks and sites.

On Thursday, May 14, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed the decree, according to which the specified decision of the National Security and Defense Council entered into force.

“To enact the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of May 14, 2020 “On the application, cancellation and amendment of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions).” This Decree comes into force from the day of its publication,” the decree reads.
