President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held the first meeting of the National Council of reforms with participation of the leadership of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Verkhovna Rada, the press service of the President’s Office reports.

“Any reform is first of all the result. When you walk down the street and feel safe. When you come home and you have money in your pocket that you earn. That’s why reforms are an opportunity for me,” the president emphasized.

According to Zelensky, reforms also require courage and quick action, as well as responsibility.

“People together with the authorities will build a country in which they want to live so much. That’s what reforms are for me. Reforms are also about responsibility. Someone should be responsible and ensure a result. Therefore, I think that this is the main task for the National Council of Reforms. To do everything so that we all want to live in Ukraine,” the head of state noted.

The president focused on the need for judicial reform, since “there is a big demand for justice and security in Ukraine.” It is also critical to create an effective health care system.

Zelensky emphasized the need for affordable loans for the population, reforming the tax system, accelerating privatization, noted positive progress in the fields of digitalization and infrastructure, in particular in the implementation of the Big Construction project, the President’s Office said.
