Zelensky invites Japanese Marubeni Corporation to invest in Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelensky, as part of his working visit to Japan, has met with the management of Japanese Marubeni Corporation and invited them to invest in Ukrainian projects. This was reported by the president’s press service.

Zelensky during the meeting said that Ukraine has signed a law to stimulate investment activity, designed to improve the investment climate.

“We are determined to carry out reforms. We are strengthening at the legislative level the protection of business from illegal actions or inaction of permitting bodies,” the President said.

The head of state noted that Ukraine is entering the final stage of large-scale privatization.

Representatives of Marubeni Corporation, in turn, said that they are already supplying grain and dairy products from Ukraine to Japan and are counting on expanding the list of agricultural products.

Marubeni Corporation also implements environmental projects in Ukraine, for example, supplying solar panels.

Volodymyr Zelensky urged Japanese company to invest in road construction in Ukraine.

“The government has recently estimated the length of roads of national importance – it is 44,000 kilometers. We will consider proposals for the development of modern roads, ambitious concession projects,” Zelensky said.

As The Journalist reported, Ukraine interested in further implementation of infrastructure projects with assistance of Japan.
