President Volodymyr Zelensky said that 72 captured Ukrainians will be able to return home before the end of the year. He stated this during a joint press conference.
According to Zelensky, the prisoners swap will be held in three stages, and 72 people can return home during the first one.
“Honestly, the “all for all” exchange is an abstract question. We agreed that the beginning of the “all for all” bloc is to exchange all agreed persons,” Zelensky said.
The head of state also emphasized that he wanted to release detained persons in the uncontrolled territories of Donbas, Russia and in annexed Crimea.
“But it is difficult. We agreed that we would discuss it and decide how this will be done. Let’s take the first step, and a big one, because 72 people can return home,” the president emphasized.
