President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed the Law “On Amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine regarding the Prevention of the Spread of Coronavirus Disease” No. 1000-IX, which the Verkhovna Rada adopted on November 6, 2020, the President’s Office reports.

“The document supplements Article 44-3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine with part two, which provides for the imposition of a fine from 10 to 15 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens for staying in public buildings, structures, public transport during quarantine without wearing personal protective equipment, including respirators or protective masks that cover the nose and mouth, in particular, made on their own,” the message says.

Thus, the purpose of the law is to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease among the citizens of the country. The document will help to increase the social responsibility of citizens and protect their health and life, as well as reduce the number of cases of infection with coronavirus disease, which will help prevent an uncontrolled increase in the number of patients with coronavirus and the overload of medical institutions.
