President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Ukrainians would have got access to digital passports by the end of winter.

He stated this during the presentation of the Diya [Action] mobile application in Kyiv.

“By the end of winter, Ukrainians should get access to digital passports With a smartphone, citizens of Ukraine will be able to certify their identity when traveling by train, during medical treatment, conducting banking operations, and so on,” Zelensky said.

Diya mobile application is available on the Apple store and Google Play. According to the president, from now on 9 million Ukrainians can use their driver’s license and vehicle registration certificate on their smartphones.

“Other countries have been moving towards this for years. We were able for six months. And, as far as I know, Ukraine has become the third country in Europe that has something similar,” the Head of State emphasized.

It is also noted that not a single hryvnia from the state budget was spent on creating the application.

As The Journalist reported, Ukraine postpones mobile app Diya presentation.
