Pentagon forbidden use geolocation applications for military

During military operations, the geolocation function in certain applications on mobile devices of the military personnel could increase security risks for operations and missions. This is stated in a Pentagon report.

«Geolocation can reveal personal information, location, daily activity and strength of the military, as well as potentially create unintended security risks and increase the danger for combined forces and missions,» - the US Defense Department said.

It is noted that among the potentially dangerous applications and devices, Pentagon has named fitness trackers, smartphones, tablets and smart watches.
