Today, 27 April 18, No.135 Expeditionary Air Wing (EAW) have been formally accredited to carry out Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) duties as part of the NATO Enhanced Air Policing Role over the Black Sea. In attendance was the UK Ambassador, Mr Paul Brumell, Commander Combined Air Operation Centre Torrejon (CAOC Torrejon), Lieutenant General Ruben C. Garcia Servert and the Royal Air Force Typhoon Force Commander, Air Commodore Mark Chappell along with other representatives from other countries. The ceremony took place at Mihail Kogalniceanu Airbase and conducted of a Certificate Presentation for the Declaration of Operational Capability and a Parade which included both RAF and Romanian Air Force. The RAF deployed to Romania as part of the NATO ‘Enhanced Air Policing’ mission, where member states will provide assistance to the Romanian Air Force’s own fleet of fast-jet aircraft. OP BILOXI is the UK contribution to the NATO Southern Air Policing (SAP). Как сообщает пресс-служба Королевских воздушных сил Великобритании, истребители Typhoon примут участие в миссии НАТО по патрулированию воздушного пространства над Черным морем.
Аккредитацию британским истребителям на участие в миссии по усилению авиационной полиции над Черным морем предоставили во время церемонии на авиабазе Михаила Когалничану в Румынии.

«Такие миссии по охране воздушного пространства гарантируют, что мы сможем быстро и эффективно бороться с любой возможностью агрессии или угрозой для Альянса или его членов», — отметил на церемонии посол Великобритании в Румынии Пол Бруммель.

Самолеты Typhoon будут работать совместно с румынскими воздушными силами и усилят авиационную полицию НАТО над Черным морем.
