Ukrposhta will pay extra to rural postmen if local authorities will overstretch them

Ukrposhta offered local authorities of the Kyiv oblast to launch a pilot project for a 3 months period, during which the company will pay extra money for rural workers with a reduced salary, provided in case the local government increases amount of postal services and loads postmen with work.

This was announced by Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan, Telegraf reports.

“Ukrposhta offers a common solution to local communities over reduction in the employment rates of postmen due to a fall in pension payments, subscriptions, trade, postal services. The company is ready to pay extra for a pilot three-month project to those workers in villages who have reduced rates, if the local government undertakes to help Ukrposhta to increase services and load employees with work,” Omelyan wrote.

He stressed that the Ministry of Infrastructure and Ukrposhta are ready to support the initiative of the Kyiv regional leaders and develop a draft law that will allow local communities to co-finance the activities of socially important functions, in particular, mail.
