Government adopted an action plan to eliminate discrimination against women

Today, on September 5, during the government meeting, Cabinet of Ministers adopted National Action Plan for implementation of concluding observations of UN Committee on Elimination of Discrimination against Women. This is reported by the Government portal.

«The corresponding action plan provides for improvement of mechanism for ensuring rights of socially impressionable categories of women and girls, including among internally displaced persons, national minorities, persons with disabilities; conducting a broad information campaign to increase legal awareness of women's rights; creating conditions for women to gain economic independence», report said.

Implementation of adopted document provides for expansion of access of girls and women to medical, educational, legal and social services.

«The main goal of the act is to overcome all forms of discrimination against women and girls, reduce level of gender and domestic violence, ensure prevention of its manifestations and timely assistance to the victims, expand women's economic opportunities, participate in decision-making in political and public life», said in message.
