The National Bank of Ukraine has presented the new UAH 20 bill, with an updated design, which will be put into circulation on September 25. This is reported by the press service of the NBU.
It is reported that the banknotes of the 2018 year will be put into circulation in addition to the already circulating banknote of 2003 year sample. However, the latter will be withdrawn from the turnover, and thus new 20 hryvnia bills will replace the old ones.
It is worth noting that the new sample of 20 hryvnia bill inherits the updated banknotes in nominal value of 100 and 500 hryvnia. The portrait of Ivan Franko is still preserved on the banknote, but now it is placed in the center of the banknote [earlier it was closer to the right side]. The color gamut and banknote size remained unchanged.
As The Journalist reported earlier, the National Bank has explained the cause of fluctuations of hryvnia exchange rate.
