The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, said that up to 10 thousand people law enforcement officers will ensure public order during the debates at the NSC Olimpiyskiy on April 19.
“At the very moment of this debate, up to 10 thousand police officers will be in and around the stadium. This is a lot of law enforcers,” said Avakov.
The Minister noted that during the football matches at the NSC Olimpiyskiy, the police, as a rule, did not go inside the stadium. But during the debate, law enforcement officers will work inside and outside the stadium, “so we attract quite a lot of people, just in case.”
According to Avakov, the fan zone at the stadium will be used ‘in full scale’, UNIAN reports.
“We are considering security measures: framework metal detectors will be installed, personal belongings will be searched,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs added.
The Interior Ministry expects up to 60,000 citizens will view the debate.
