Petrenko: Three million Ukrainian children live in single-parent families

In Ukraine, three million children live in single-parent families, of which 550 thousand are victims of economic violence by one of the parents. This is reported by Minister of Justice of Ukraine Pavlo Petrenko, reports UNN.
“Moreover, during the registration of newborns in 20% of cases, mothers do not indicate parents. In fact, every fifth child in the country is fatherless,” said Pavlo Petrenko.
Minister of Justice added that within the framework of the national project “There are no strangers’ children” a number of laws were passed, according to which 550 thousand children who suffered from non-payment of alimony received UAH 4.6 billion of debt funds.
