The head of Ukrzaliznytsia, Yevghen Kravtsov, has said that the number of rail passengers traveling to countries of the European Union doubled compared to 2017. He said this during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on January 10, the press service of the company informs.
It is reported that Ukrzaliznytsya transported 676,000 passengers to the EU in 2018, whereas 369,000 passengers were transported there in 2017.
It is noted that Ukrzaliznytsia trains run to Warsaw, Vienna, Budapest, Vilnius, Riga, Bucharest, Kosice, Krakow, Debrecen, Lublin and other European cities. The most popular destinations are Warsaw and Przemysl.
In total, 40 trains operating on international routes; out of them 20 run to European countries.

“The company is confidently competing with road and air transport in passenger traffic to neighboring countries,” Yevhen Kravtsov stated.

As The Journalist reported, Ukrzaliznytsia has appointed a new train from Donetsk to the Kharkiv oblast.
