Ukraine hit list of last twenty countries in Global Wealth Report 2018

Ukraine ranked 123 among 140 countries of the world in terms of the personal wealth of citizens. In 2018, this figure is USD 1,563 per adult resident. This was reported in the annual report of Credit Suisse on the welfare in the world – the Global Wealth Report.

Ukraine has overtaken Tajikistan (USD 1,364), Zambia (USD 1,197), Syria (USD 1,190) and Mali (USD 1,094) in personal wealth and became slightly behind Nepal (USD 2,054), Cameroon (USD 2,282), Kenya (USD 2,306) Bangladesh (USD 2,332) and Lesotho (USD 2,640). The poorest countries, according to the rate, became the Democratic Republic of Congo (USD 331), Ethiopia (USD 167) and Malawi (USD 141).
Switzerland was recognized as the richest country in the world with welfare indicator of more than USD 530 thousand per one adult resident. Australia is second (USD 411 thousand), the third is US (USD 404 thousand). The top ten with the richest population also includes Belgium, Norway, New Zealand, Canada, Denmark, Singapore and France.
The Credit Suisse, in order to determine the level of wealth of population, takes into account the financial (bank deposits) and non-financial assets (real estate).
