Yesterday, October 14, the solemn opening of the largest bee monument in Ukraine was held in Volyn in the village of Manevichi. The initiative was held in celebration of the Day of the bee and honey. The authors of the composition are Lutsk blacksmith Viktor Semenyuk together with his son Viktor Stschalyviy. About this reports Volyn 24 Edition.
The authors worked on the creation of the monument for six months. The artists used low carbon steel and expensive car paint to implement the idea.
The initiators of the event were members of the local cell of beekeepers.
«The chief designer who made all the measurements, patterns was Viktor Stschalyviy, and the performer of the works was Viktor Semenyuk. The sketch was created together with the beekeepers», said in a statement.
It is assumed that the monument will fall into Guinness Book of Records as the largest in Ukraine commemorative composition of bees.
«The height of the bee is 3.3 m, the length is 2.6 m, the wingspan is 2.5 m, and the weight is 400 kg», said the author of the monument, Viktor Semenyuk.
The monument in Manevichi became the fourth dedication to the bee – the first three were installed in Zakarpattia, in Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk oblasts, respectively.
As previously reported by The Journalist, in Kyiv, the police did not allow the right-wing radicals to crush the monument to Soviet General Vatutin.
