According to Ministry of Social Policy (Ministry of Social Policy) on the official website institutions, from 2008 to 2017, 27,035 Ukrainian children were adopted.
We are talking about orphans and children deprived of parental care.
According to the ministry, 18 748 of them now live in the families of citizens of Ukraine, and the rest – in families of foreigners.
Earlier Ukrinform with reference to response of Ministry of Social Policy to relevant request of news agency reported that in the five months of this year in Ukraine, 604 children were adopted. It is known that 471 single children were adopted by Ukrainian citizens and 133 by foreigners.
As previously reported by The Journalist, Kyiv purchased 122 apartments for orphans and opens a social hostel.
