Ukrposhta announced issuance of its own bank cards

The Verkhovna Rada has registered a bill which may authorize the Ukrposhta to provide postal account servicing and to issue electronic payment means. This is reported by UBR inform agency.
It is reported that the postal operator will be able to provide individual banking services without the need of obtaining the banking license.
Ukrposhta’s management stated that if the law will be adopted, the company would start servicing its cards within one year.
It is noted that at the moment Ukrposhta establishes 5 thousand bank cards accepting terminals.
As The Journlist reported, over the first half of the year almost 28% of remittances across the country were implemented with the use of the Ukrposhta’s services.
