UN reported an increase in number of cases of violations of journalists’ rights in Ukraine

The UN organization reports that the number of attacks on journalists and activists has increased by 210% compared to the previously reported period. This is reported by Hromadske news agency.

From May 16 to August 15, 2018 were recorded 32 violations of the rights of journalists and activists in Ukraine. According to the UN, violations were committed against 23 media workers.
In addition, the UN reported physical attacks on journalists commited with the use violence, including fatality cases.
The statement mentioned the lack of progress in the investigation on the murders of journalists Pavel Sheremet and Olesya Buzina.
