The US supports Ukraine in the issue of a single Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church

The United States will continue to support Ukraine in obtaining the right to have a single Ukrainian autocephalous Orthodox church.

This was discussed at meeting of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko with the US Ambassador for International Religious Freedom Samuel Braunbek, press service of [head of state](https://www.president.gov.ua/news/prezident-zustrivsya -z-poslom-ssha-z-osoblivih-doruchen-z-pi-49518).

Poroshenko stressed that religious freedom is an integral part of Ukrainian identity.
«We are proud that we have a worthy state of religious freedom in Ukraine, which is guaranteed by the Constitution and law on freedom of conscience and religious organizations, as well as traditionally high level of tolerance that prevails in Ukrainian society», president said.

In turn, Ambassador Brownback assured that America will continue to support Ukraine in struggle for restoration of sovereignty and territorial integrity, and right to have a single Ukrainian autocephalous Orthodox Church.
