ROC will break up with Constantinople, if Ukrainian Church receives independence

Head of Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, said that Moscow Patriarchate would break off ties with Patriarchate of Constantinople in case of granting autocephaly to Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

«When they intervene in such a brazen and cynical manner in the affairs of the local Orthodox Church, this not only causes a deadlock, but also threatens to split whole world Orthodoxy», Metropolitan Hilarion said.

As reported by Medusa ROC believes exhausted «means of ecclesiastical diplomacy» in relations with the Church of Constantinople.

Earlier The Journalist wrote that the Ecumenical Patriarch decided to proclaim the Ukrainian autocephalous church.
