The Ukrainian-Romanian joint military exercises Riverine 2018 launched in Izmail (Odessa Oblast). This was reported by the press center of the Ukrainian Naval Forces Command.
Military seamen and border guards work out joint operations at the Danube section from Izmail to Braila. The exercises will last three days. At the same time, Ukrainian and Romanian military seamen and border guards will be working out tactical elements in accordance with NATO standards as part of the tactical cutter groups, and will improve the cooperation of the coast.
The coastguard will be covering the surface situation.
«We conduct such bilateral Ukrainian-Romanian exercises Riverine 2018 for the first time and they are aimed at strengthening regional security and improving cooperation between the fleets of Ukraine and Romania. These maneuvers will allow us to maintain stability in the region, qualitatively train forces and implement standards of interaction between military seamen,» – the report said.
