According to the data, provided by the United Nations (UN), labor migration of Ukrainian citizens can cause a 18% drop of the country’s population untill 2050. This is reported by Strana.ua news agency.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin stated that about 1 million citizens leave the country every year.

«We have a really catastrophic situation. About a million Ukrainians leave the country annually. We believe that this negative trend will continue in the near future,» – Klimkin said.

Political expert Helena Dyachenko has named two reasons for the migration of Ukrainians. The first one is connected with the difficulties of finding a permanent job with a decent payment in Ukraine.

«The second phenomenon, which inherent in Ukraine, is the poverty of working people. When a person has a permanent job, but he earns not enough to go beyond the poverty line, for example, in accordence to UN standards,» – Elena Dyachenko explained.

The expert believes that the mass migration of Ukrainians is a direct threat for the country’s economy.
As The Journalist reported earlier, the United Nations predicts a new influx of refugees from the African continent.
