Poroshenko met with Congress delegation in Washington

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with the US Congress delegation in Washington. The Head of State posted this on Facebook.

It is reported that at the meeting Poroshenko thanked the US Congress for its important role in protecting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, including consistent support for the provision of lethal defensive weapons to Ukraine and increasing sanctions pressure on Russia.
In addition, further steps were coordinated to strengthen international efforts for the de-occupation of the Ukrainian Crimea and the Donbas. The Head of State drew attention to the illegal activity of the Russian Federation in the waters of the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait.
The parties discussed topics related to threats to energy security of Europe due to the implementation of the Nord Stream 2 project and Ukraine’s progress in implementing reform programs and developing cooperation with the IMF.
The President of Ukraine also expressed his hope for the congressmen support of of for Ukraine’s efforts to officially recognize the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
As The Journalist reported earlier, Poroshenko appointed Symonenko, Matsedonska and Slynko as judges of the Supreme Court.
