Ministry of Education approved a new knowledge assessment system for first-graders – certificate of achievements

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has officially approved a new system for assessing knowledge for first-graders. The corresponding order was published on the official website of the Ministry.
Thus, from the September 1st, 2018, the table for first-graders will be replaced by special certificate of achievements.
According to the report, teachers will evaluate successes of schoolchildren by the new 4-level achievement system. Instead of classical assessments, the teacher will mark one of the following categories: has significant success; demonstrates significant progress; achieves results with the help of a teacher; requires attention and assistance in studying a particular subject.
It is known that the first part of the certificate (as an interim report) will be filled by the teacher in October, the second and final – in May.
The Ministry also noted that in the first grade the evaluation will have a descriptive character of the training level, diligence, social behavior, as well as subjects and the educational process.
