Militants shelled Ukrainian army positions 23 times over past day: two Ukrainian servicemen were wounded

Over the past day, on August 20, militants launched 23 attacks on Ukrainian positions in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas, using heavy weapons. As a result, two Ukrainian servicemen were injured. This is reported by the press center of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) HQ on Facebook.

The militants opened aimed fire from grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms, and in certain areas the enemy used 82-mm mortars. Combat was reported near the settlements of Krymske, Svitlodarsk, Popasna, Maryinka, Hnutove, Pavlopil, Lebedynske, Vodiane and Shyrokyne areas. In vicinity of Lebedynske, the enemy used 82-mm mortars and near Novoluhanske – 120-mm mortars.

«During the current day, Russian occupation forces using the armament installed on the infantry fighting vehicles and heavy machine guns shelled Ukrainian defenders positions in the vicinity of Lebedynske and Vodiane settlements,» – the report said.

There is no loss among the JFO personnel, but two Ukrainian servicemen were injured.
