According to message on the official website of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (MES), in Ukraine the first professional standard for primary school teachers «Teacher of primary classes of general secondary education» was approved.
Document was developed by Ministry of Education with participation of teachers and representatives of pedagogical universities. It is known that this is the first professional standard, which was approved at the national level.
«For the first time, not only at the national level, a professional standard has been approved, but in detail, in shelves, what kind of qualifications should a person possess if he wants to be or work as a teacher. There are no vague wordings in this document, each competence, knowledge, skills are clearly written out. And this is very important, after all, we have given a completely new instrument both for employers and for universities preparing future teachers», explained Minister Liliya Hrynevych.
The standard was published by the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine in the relevant register
«The document clearly outlines general information on the standard, training and professional development of the teacher and most importantly – a specific list of its functions», the report said.
As previously reported by The Journalist entrants can enter vocational education institutions before October 2018.
