Public bicycle rental point was opened in Kyiv

In Kiyv park named after Taras Shevchenko, the public bike rental service began to operate, the press service of the Kyiv mayor Vitaliy Klitschko.

Rental is opened in the framework of pilot project Bike sharing, which authorities of capital implement jointly with company Nextbike. To use the system, you need to download the mobile application Nextbike to your phone and register.
To rent a bicycle, you must read the QR-code from it and follow the menu. The cost of such a rental is 30 UAH for half an hour, a monthly subscription is 199 UAH, season ticket is 599 UAH.

Each bicycle rental is equipped with GPS, so the company knows where it is and who used it for the last time. Today in the rental bike park in the capital – 100 bicycles, and by the end of next year it is promised to increase up to 2 thousand bikes.

Bike rental system of the capital will initially be designed for 33 bike stations. They are placed in the most convenient places – near the metro stations Lukyanivska, on Obolonskyi Avenue, near metro styation Pochayna, Golden Gate, Arsenalna, Obolon, Minska, Heroiv Dnipra, Livoberezhna, Kharkivska, Poznyaki, Osokorki, Taras Shevchenko, Kontraktova Ploshcha, on the Verhniy Val street, near Kyiv cycling track, on Sofiyska Square, Independence Square, Mikhailovska, Kontraktova, Poshtova Ploscha, Khreshchatyk (near KCSA) and Architektor Gorodetskyi streets, in Shevchenko pair, in Raduzhniy and Rusanivka disctricts and others.

During presentation of system of public bicycle rental, concept of development of Kyiv’s bicycle infrastructure until 2020 was presented. It provides for the arrangement of 64 streets of the capital in such a way that bicyclists can comfortably move along them. Also in the city will create three main cycling routes, install bike parking near the municipal facilities of the city.
