On July 30th, Independence Square in Kyiv hosted an action for the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons #CounteractingTraffickinginPersons and balloons flash mob with the logo «A child is not goods», cognitive games for teenagers and children on the issues of awareness of rights, duties and safe behavior. About this informs press service of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.

According to the International Organization for Migration, between 1991 and 2017, more than 120,000 Ukrainians were affected by trafficking in Ukraine. The annual worldwide profit of the criminal sector in this sphere of activity ranges from $ 5 to $ 7 billion.

In order to draw attention to millions of people who have been victims of human trafficking and encourage people to actively oppose this crime, starting from 2014, on July 30th, the world community marks the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, which was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 2013.

«For those who want to get a good job abroad, pay attention to the following information: traffickers operate through employment agencies, show business companies and dating services. They also place false ads in newspapers and on websites, address offers directly on the street, help financially to drag a person into debt bondage. Often good friends or friends are traffickers of a living commodity, with a significant percentage of them women. The most frequent forms of exploitation are: illegal sex industry, forced labor, surrogate motherhood, involvement in criminal activities and forced donation. Remember that both women and men become victims, as well as minor children», said Stanislav Kutsenko, the head of the capital’s justice, who joined the social and information campaign.

Specialists of the capital’s justice informed the citizens of Kyiv and guests of the capital about the basic rights of citizens and distributed information materials on preventing and combating human trafficking.

Lawyers also called on all those whose rights are violated to appeal to the right-of-charge project of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine «I have the right» on the phone 0800213103 and also through the site, where you can get not only legal advice, but also a free lawyer from the state to protect the rights in court.
