«The Constitutional Court of Ukraine, based on the content of the Article 16 of Ukraine’s Constitution, notes that the state’s obligation to overcome the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster – the catastrophe of a planetary scale, the preservation of Ukrainian people’s genofund predetermines the granting of special status for the citizens who suffered after Chernobyl disaster,» – the message says.

The Constitutional Court of Ukraine believe that the benefits, compensations and guarantees are a special form of the compensation for damage caused for the Chernobyl victims.
