Ukraine will receive new patrol boats from the US, – Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak said this during the ceremony dedicated to the official Ukrainian Navy Day events in Odessa on July 1, «TSN» reported.
It is reported that, according to the Minister, a naval command, the Marines’ command will be formed this year.
«In addition to those boats that have just been transferred to the Navy, we expect to receive patrol boats from our partners from the United States this year», — he said.
In addition, Poltorak noted that this year Ukraine is to complete building of assault boats, work will continue to build a corvette, develop and manufacture armored artillery boats.
As the Minister of Defense stressed, the year 2018 will be not easy both for the Navy and the entire security and defense sector of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As «The Journalist» reported earlier, the Ukrainian Navy will receive a new vessel, thanks to the State Border Service.
