Employees of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS) stopped the attempt to move about 1000 packs of contraband cigarettes to Romania. This is reported the press service of the SBGS.
In Transcarpathia, the smugglers attempted to contraband a batch of cigarettes into Romania. Attackers were found by the border police department «Dilove» of Mukachevo police.
«In order to prevent the illegal movement of contraband goods across the border, servicemen began to prosecute offenders who, with packages in their hands, were heading for the Tisa River. During the prosecution, several warning shots were fired, but people still turned to flight», the report said.
The attackers left two packages containing 960 packs of cigarettes without excise stamps.
Measures are continuing to establish the circle of persons involved in unlawful activities.
Previously «The Journalist» reported that the Frontier guards stopped attempts to smuggle tobacco and seized foreign cars.
