On the 17th o June the Kiev Chamber Orchestra will present a new program on the stage of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine. Natalia Ponomarchuk will be the conductor. It is reported by press service of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine.
The concert program, which will be held on the 17th of June at the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, includes works by Austrian classics of XIX – beginning of XX centuries, who lived and worked in Vienna at different times. All the submitted works, despite the fact that they were written at different stages in the evolution of musical language combines elegiac, melancholic, romantic character. Sound Quartet Franz Schubert’s «Death and the Maiden» (arranged for string orchestra by Gustav Mahler), «Songs of a Wayfarer» and the famous Adagietto with Mahler’s Fifth Symphony, as well as «Langsamer Satz» for two violins, viola and cello by Anton Webern arranged for orchestra.
Natalia Ponomarchuk will be behind the conductor’s panel. We recall that Ponomarchuk gained recognition after she became the winner of the first prize at the National Competition of Conductors named after Stefan Turchak 1998 in Kyiv. Although already at the last year of her studies at the Kyiv Conservatory (class teacher Allina Vlasenko) she worked as a conductor of the orchestra of the National Radio Company of Ukraine. Natalia is also a diploma winner of the II Prokofiev International Competition of Conductors in St. Petersburg. As an invited conductor she has performed in the framework of tours in the most prestigious world concert halls. Since 2003 Natalia Ponomarchuk is head of Academic Symphony Orchestra of Dnipro Philharmonic, and since 2009, she is the second conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, and recently she is the principal conductor of the Kiev Chamber Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine.
