Law enforcement officers announced suspicion to the Cherkasy city Council officials on suspicion in embezzlement of more than 3 million UAH. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office in Cherkasy region.
Officials, by prior agreement, involved into unlawful activities a private entrepreneur and her husband. With their help, the suspects on behalf of the Department of Education and Humanitarian Policy of the Cherkasy City Council concluded contracts for the supply of goods in 2017.
«Knowing that the agreed goods were not purchased and supplied, and that the terms of the agreement were not actually fulfilled, the officials signed agreements on the acceptance and transfer of property and on the transfer of goods for storage. In the result, for allegedly rendered services entrepreneur received more than 3 million 260 thousand UAH from the budget», – the report said.
One of the deputies of the Head of the Cherkasy City Council, the deputy head of one of the departments of the Cherkasy City Council, a private entrepreneur and her husband were announced suspicion of committing a crime. They face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property and with no the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 3 years.
As «The Journalist» reported earlier, the military prosecutor’s office detained the military shop manager for embezzling more than 1.3 million UAH.
