Kyiv city authorities will purchase 15 amphibious buses from the Dutch Amfibious Transport Vehicles BV in order to ensure the unimpeded movement of passengers during possible floods caused by heavy rains or snowmelt, 112 Ukraine reports.
“Of course, sewage repair continues. However, this situation requires quick decisions, so [Kyiv City Administration] decided to purchase Amphibus buses. We hope that these buses will help Kyiv citizens to use public transport despite the bad weather, which, unfortunately, have become a frequent ‘visitor’ in our city,” said a representative of the Department of Element Control and Procurement of New Public Transport of the KSCA.
This type of public transport can move both by land and by water. One such bus can carry up to 50 people.
As The Journalist reported, Kyiv municipal beach opened beach lifeguard vacancies.
