A pilot project aimed to weigh trucks that are in motion will start in late October 2019, the adviser to the head of the Ukraine’s State Road Agency (Ukravtodor), Oleksandr Kava said in interview with Hromadske.
It is reported that the complex called Weight-in-Motion (or WiM) will allow to detect overloaded trucks among the cars flow.
“An independent tender was held, which determined the company winner, and an agreement with it was signed several weeks ago. The project will be implemented by the end of the year, in October. At the first stage, this system will collect information and pass it to the employees of the State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety, who will stand at a certain distance. If an overload truck will be fixed, it will be stopped. The driver and the carrier company will be held accountable,” said Kava.
As The Journalist reported, Ukravtodor spent over UAH 20 billion of the state budget funds in 2017.
