Acting Health Minister Ulana Suprun stated that non-“core” ambulance calls, or those that do not end with a patient’s hospitalization, accounts for about 70% of all calls.
“The fact that the majority of calls is not only the problem for emergency brigades that work in very difficult conditions. This is a problem for all of us, because while the team advises to use paracetamol to treat fever (which is, in fact, is advice provided by the family doctor) someone with a heart attack remains without emergency help, since all doctors are engaged in non-core calls,” Suprun said .
According to Suprun, local authorities can support the work of the primary health care centers, since within the transformation of health care system, in particular emergency medical care, active participation on the ground is required.
“For the first stage of transformation this year was allocated UAH 922 million and it will be held in 6 pilot oblasts – Odesa, Vinnitsya, Donetsk, Poltava, Ternopil and in the city of Kyiv,” Suprun emphasized.
As part of the transformation of the health care system, it is planned to train brigades and increase salaries of specialists; will be acquired new transport, equipped with the necessary equipment, as well as modern dispatching services will work according to a single algorithm, which later will be united by a single electronic system throughout the country.
As The Journalist reported, Suprun told how plastic enters people body.
