Monument commemorating soldiers who died in conflict in Donbas opened in Chernihiv Oblast

A monument commemorating countrymen who died in the Anti-Terrorist and Joint Force operations area was opened on April 14, in the city of Pryluky, (Chernihiv Oblast). This is reported by the press service of the Priluksky City Council.

The monument was installed in a park near the Central Square.

“This is a four-meter pedestal of granite, at the foot of which the lines written by the poet Vasiliy Symonenko are carved, and the cranes are depicted as symbolic souls of the dead. Also, it depicts the emblem of Ukraine,” the report says.

It is noted that the monument was created by local architect Pavlo Berezhniy at the expense of the city and raion budgets.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the authorities and the public, as well as family members of the victims. They laid wreaths and flowers to the memorial and honored the memory of the fallen with a one-minute moment of silence.

As The Journalist reported, a monument to Oleksandr Vertinskiy was opened in Kyiv.
